ALTERNATIVES / FIELD NOTE 03

Buying a profile vs. hiring for an outcome

Set a purchasing brief before comparing providers.

Write the result in business terms

A useful brief describes the audience you need to reach and the work you need completed. “More accounts” describes an input. It does not explain why the campaign should exist or how you will recognize useful progress.

Compare options with the same scope

Consider work done from your own profile, a team member’s work under their own identity, and an external outreach professional. For each option, record who handles targeting, approvals, conversations, and reporting.

Separate price from total effort

A low entry price can exclude briefing, management, reply handling, or continuity work. Compare the complete proposed scope and your internal time. Do not assign invented replacement or performance costs just to favor one option.

Look at the human-service alternative

Akountify says it connects businesses with outreach professionals rather than creating or selling profiles. That is a service model to evaluate on delivery responsibilities and terms. It should not be evaluated as a way to acquire ownership of someone else’s account.

Choose based on verifiable fit

Ask for a clear agreement, a realistic process, and evidence relevant to your needs. No provider can make an outreach outcome certain. Favor clarity about responsibilities and limitations over sweeping claims about safety or guaranteed reach.
